Responsibilities

Reporting to the COO, the Director of Operations will lead sourcing, production and copacking efforts and provide strategic and managerial leadership to fulfill company goals. This includes managing contract manufacturing, production and inventory planning, procurement and fulfillment functions and providing operational support to senior management to improve efficiency throughout the organization.

Strategic Operations

• Assist COO and CEO in development of operations team
• Determine future human resource needs of department
• Provide strategic direction for management of all operations

Contract Manufacturing

• Manage fulfillment process through copackers and warehouses
• Manage Operations Associate in processing orders and managing logistics

Purchasing

• Work closely with QA and Sourcing Manager to secure long-term suppliers based on price,quality, service, availability, reliability and selection
• Manage packaging suppliers, constantly work to improve packaging design for consumer-use,cost effectiveness, sustainability concerns
• Determine purchasing needs and variables, negotiate contracts and oversee the ordering of all materials

About You

• 10+ years experience managing operations and supply chain, preferably in a food company or related field
• Demonstrated abilities in managing and building internal teams
• Superior spreadsheet and forecasting skills (MS excel)
• Demonstrated capacity in building external relationships and managing suppliers, copackers and other vendors
• Excellent math and analytical skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and able to make quick judgment calls on priorities and multi-task.
• Passionate about eating well and living a healthy lifestyle.
• Interested in being a part of a growing food company and have a strong conviction in our mission to create healthy snack foods.
• Able to travel to copackers and suppliers as needed
• Excellent communication skills
• Sense of humor

Compensation

Commensurate with experience. Health insurance, paid vacation and holidays provided. Stock option plan.
